The Atlantis Family celebrated our 25th birthday yesterday with a long Italian Lunch at the Brewery Arts Centre ahead of singing along with Elton at Kendal Showfield.
"In June 1990 I took my first step in business, aged 25 and married same month, by signing a lease for a small area within a tile showroom at Station Yard, Kendal and renting a storage shed for £20 a week from a farmer at Oakbank. I gave back my plush company car to the Kitchen Wholesaler where I was National Sales Manager and bought a second hand transit van. I used to call myself Mr Ben as I would design kitchens in a suit then put a plastic fishing suit over the top to collect the rubbish from completed kitchen installations. As I said to our Atlantis family yesterday.... I wake up and pinch myself that I now work with such talented and lovely people, and will remember that fact on every Birthday going forward, as it's enough for this wild eyed wanderer, that we got this far".
